La FED pronostica un solo recorte de las tasas de interés este año debido a que la inflación permanece alta

@factores.economicos La Reserva Federal decidió mantener las tasas de interés en un máximo de 23 años ayer miércoles, al tiempo que redujo su estimación de recortes de tasas este año a sólo 1 vez.

El Banco Central votó para mantener su tasa de interés de referencia en un rango de 5.25% – 5.50% al concluir su reunión de política monetaria de dos días. La tasa de fondos federales ha estado en este rango desde el pasado mes de julio del 2023.

Las opiniones sobre la cantidad esperada de recortes de tasas de interés durante lo que resta del 2024 fue reñida, 8 funcionarios estimaron dos recortes este año, mientras que 7 funcionarios predijeron un recorte; 4 funcionarios consideraron que no se darán recortes este año.

Al mismo tiempo, los funcionarios de la Fed aumentaron su pronóstico colectivo sobre la cantidad de recortes esperados para el próximo año. Ahora prevén en promedio que se darán cuatro recortes de tasas adicionales en 2025. Eso representa un aumento con respecto a un pronóstico anterior de sólo tres recortes.
