Administración de Biden anuncia condonación de deuda estudiantil por un monto de $7.7 billones

@factores.economicos La administración de Biden anunció el miércoles la cancelación de $7.7 billones adicionales en préstamos estudiantiles para 160,000 estadounidenses, como parte de sus esfuerzos continuos para aliviar la creciente deuda universitaria.

Con las elecciones de noviembre acercándose, la administración ha estado ansiosa por resaltar el progreso en sus programas de cancelación de deudas, haciendo anuncios como este casi una vez al mes. El presidente Joe Biden ha enfrentado críticas de los republicanos, quienes acusan a la administración de transferir la carga a los contribuyentes y socavar a la Corte Suprema, que bloqueó el plan de condonación de préstamos estudiantiles de la Casa Blanca el año pasado.

Con el anuncio del miércoles se eleva el número total de estadounidenses que han tenido préstamos perdonados a 4.75 millones, aliviando un monto promedio de más de $35,000 de deuda por persona, según dijo la Casa Blanca.
